Island, September 14, 2006 —
The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today that
wholesalers have been directed to decrease prices in their dealer and
consumer schedules by 5.4 cents per litre (cpl) on gasoline, by 8.0 cpl
on diesel and by 5.5 cpl on furnace fuel and stove oil, effective 12:01
a.m. Friday, September 15, 2006.
prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve outlets will now
range from 93.9 cpl to 95.5 cpl.
There are no changes to propane prices at this time.
announcing the price changes, the Commission indicated that the
continuing fall in petroleum prices is the result of a combination of
factors including the easing of geo-political tensions in the Middle
East, the end of the peak summer driving season and the fact that there
has been limited hurricane activity in oil producing and refining
regions thus far this year.
Commission’s next scheduled price adjustment will be on October 1.
