Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, August 14, 2008
Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission announced today
the following petroleum pricing decisions, effective

1.0 cents per litre (cpl);
Furnace oil and stove oil prices
will decrease by 8.2 cpl;
Diesel prices will decrease by 9.0
There will be no changes in
propane prices at this time.
Including taxes, pump prices for regular unleaded gasoline at self-serve
outlets will now range from 126.5 cpl to 128.6 cpl.
sustained fall in the price of crude over the past month continues to
impact refined product pricing. The steadily rising value of the U.S.
dollar, the significant reduction in demand that has occurred
particularly in North America and Europe and the relatively calm global
geo-political scene experienced as of late have all contributed to this
pronounced deflation in crude trading values. While, in general, the
fall of crude has resulted in lower refined product prices over the past
month, recently, gasoline spot market prices have moved in the opposite
direction as refiners react to reduced margins, continued high input
costs and a shrinking market.
Commission's next scheduled price adjustment will be on September
